1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store in a user's browser when they visit a page. They allow the site to remember information between visits or during a session, such as the user's authentication state.
There are different types of cookies: technical or necessary cookies (essential for the service to function), analytical cookies (to measure site usage), and marketing or advertising cookies (to show personalized ads). Nomos uses strictly necessary technical cookies and, only with your prior consent, Google Analytics analytical cookies.
2. Technical cookies we use
Nomos uses only technical session cookies, necessary to manage user authentication. These cookies are generated and managed by Firebase Authentication and are essential to keep your session active while using the platform.

These cookies are strictly necessary for the service to function. They cannot be disabled if you wish to use platform features that require authentication.
3. Third-party services and analytics
Nomos uses the following third-party services that may collect technical information about platform usage. Google Analytics requires your prior consent; the others are privacy-friendly tools that do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Google Analytics
Nomos uses Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand how users interact with the platform (most visited pages, time on page, devices, approximate country). This service sets analytical cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that are loaded only after you accept in the consent banner. We apply Google Consent Mode v2 with defaults denied and IP anonymization. You can change your choice at any time from the banner.
Google Analytics cookies are kept in your browser for up to 2 years from your last activity. You can delete them from your browser settings.

Vercel Analytics
Nomos uses Vercel Analytics to measure traffic and general platform performance. Vercel Analytics is a privacy-friendly solution: it does not use cookies, does not track individual users across sessions, and only collects aggregated, anonymized data (pages visited, country of origin, device type). No personally identifiable data is processed by this service.

Vercel Speed Insights
Nomos uses Vercel Speed Insights to monitor web performance metrics (Core Web Vitals: LCP, FID, CLS, etc.). This service does not use cookies or track individual users. Data collected are fully anonymized technical performance metrics.
Beyond Google Analytics (which requires your consent), we do not use Meta Pixel or any other marketing, retargeting, or advertising profiling tool.
4. How to manage cookies
Strictly necessary technical cookies for authentication are loaded automatically, as they are essential to provide the service and do not require prior consent under applicable law. Google Analytics analytical cookies are activated only if you accept them in the consent banner shown on entry. You can revoke or grant consent at any time by deleting the nomos-cookie-consent cookie from your browser.

Note: deleting Firebase session cookies will log you out of Nomos and you will need to sign in again.
